The phone is designed to extend the ability to communicate from
areas
where cellular or landline phones are unavailable and easily
switches from
terrestrial cellular telephony to satellite telephony as required.
This
gives the caller greater flexibility and a way of keeping charges
low. The
caller only pays for Globalstar service when he/she needs it.
